If the US government shuts down
BLS and BEA stop publishing when US government funding lapses, and their dates move. As of 30 September 2026, federal agencies are funded through 11 December 2026 under H.R. 6500, the Continuing Appropriations and Extensions Act, 2027, signed on 2 September 2026 (White House statement). The October and November releases fall inside that window. The PCE release on 23 December falls after it, so watch for a new funding deal before then. In the shutdown that began on 1 October 2025, the September 2025 jobs report came out on 20 November instead of early October.
Questions and answers
Which US data moves crypto the most?
CPI and the FOMC decision usually cause the biggest moves, then the jobs report. PCE tends to move less because CPI has already come out.
What time do US data releases come out in India?
Most BLS and BEA reports come out at 8:30 a.m. ET: 6:00 p.m. IST until 1 November 2026, then 7:00 p.m. IST. FOMC statements at 2:00 p.m. ET land at 11:30 p.m. or 12:30 a.m. IST.
