Decision: the federal funds target range as the statement sets it. Statements at 2:00 p.m. New York time, from the Federal Reserve's FOMC calendars. The press conference starts 30 minutes later, inside the hour measured here.

How we measure the move

The move starts at the release minute, read off each release itself. We take the open of the 1-minute bar that starts at that minute and the open of the bar 15 and 60 minutes later, and give the percent change between them.

The gold prices are the 1-minute spot gold (XAU/USD) bars behind the Pravex gold chart, the same bars you see when you open it. Release dates, times and figures come from the agency, and every row links to its release.

Why gold watches the Fed

Gold pays no interest, so the rate the Fed sets is the cost of holding it instead of cash or Treasuries. A cut or a softer statement often helps gold; a hike or a firmer tone often weighs on it. The statement, the projections four times a year and the chair's press conference all land within the hour.

The next one

The next release is on 9 December 2026 at 2:00 p.m. New York time. The row fills in an hour after it. release time on your clock.
