About this SP500 chart
The S&P 500 follows 500 large US companies, weighted by the market value of their shares that are free to trade, and has been published in that form since 1957. SP500 is the xyz market licensed by S&P Dow Jones Indices on the S&P 500, a perpetual on Hyperliquid's xyz exchange. It follows the index without being the index itself, a fund or a futures contract.
The live price is the oracle price Hyperliquid publishes for SP500. Its candles keep the official sessions of US index futures, from Sunday 6:00 p.m. to Friday 5:00 p.m. New York time, with a one-hour pause from 5:00 p.m. each day and shorter days on US holidays. So there are no weekend candles, the way an index chart at a broker has none.
Beside the price, the tiles give the day's range, the range over the last five sessions, the full range since SP500 opened on Hyperliquid, and the previous close.
