About this Polkadot chart

Polkadot connects many blockchains, called parachains, to one main chain, the relay chain, which secures them all. Gavin Wood, a co-founder of Ethereum, designed it, and the Web3 Foundation backs it. The network launched in May 2020, and DOT is used to stake, to vote on changes to the network and to pay fees.

The price here is Hyperliquid's DOT perpetual in US dollars, three decimals on the price and two on the axis. It has no expiry date, and funding settled every hour keeps it near the spot price. DOT trades every day of the week, so each timeframe tab runs without weekend gaps.
