What 5,000 bars means on gold
Gold trades about 23 hours a day on weekdays, so one trading day holds about 1,380 one-minute candles. On TradingView Basic, 5,000 bars of 1-minute XAUUSD is about three and a half trading days. On the 5-minute chart the same 5,000 bars reach back about 18 trading days.
That matters when you want to see how gold behaved around last month’s jobs report or CPI on the 1-minute chart. On Pravex the 1-minute gold chart scrolls back to January 2022, so last month’s releases are all there.
The indicator limit on a gold setup
A common intraday gold setup is two EMAs, RSI and VWAP. That is four indicators, and Basic allows two per chart.
Example: the cheapest TradingView plan with room for four is Essential, with 5 per chart. Billed yearly it costs 12 × $12.95 = $155.40 a year before tax. Paid month by month it is 12 × $14.95 = $179.40. The same four indicators on the Pravex gold chart cost nothing.
Essential also removes ads and gives 2 charts per tab and 5 saved layouts, which some traders will find worth the money. If what you need is more room on a gold chart, Pravex gives it at no cost. More on this in the TradingView indicator limit.
Gold and silver on one screen
Many gold traders keep several timeframes of XAUUSD open, and silver beside them. TradingView Basic shows one chart per tab. A Pravex layout holds up to 16 charts kept in sync by symbol, timeframe or crosshair, so gold on 1-minute, 15-minute and 4-hour can sit on one screen with silver beside it. When TradingView Basic is enough
If you read one gold chart with two indicators and keep three price alerts, Basic does the job, and TradingView’s social features and scripts are a reason many people stay. If you keep running into the caps above, open the Pravex gold chart and set it up the way you want. For the full list of what each TradingView plan includes, read is TradingView free.
