A worked example

Example prices, not the live one: you put $1,000 into SOL at $100.00, with a 0.1% fee on each side. The buy fee takes $1, and $999 buys 9.99 SOL.

You sell at $125.00, 25% higher. $1,247.50 comes back after the sell fee, a profit of $247.50, or +24.75%, after $2.25 in fees. To break even you need $100.20, a little above the $100.00 you paid, because both fees come out of the trade.

How it is worked out

SOL bought = amount × (1 − fee) ÷ buy price. You get back = SOL × sell price × (1 − fee). Profit = what you get back − amount. Break-even = buy price ÷ (1 − fee)².

The moves are worked out from Hyperliquid’s daily SOL candles: the price now against the open of the UTC day 7, 30 or 90 days back, which is the price at 00:00 UTC that day. They are what happened, not a forecast.

Questions and answers

How do I calculate Solana profit?

Take the fee off what you put in and divide by the buy price to get your SOL. Multiply by the sell price, take the sell fee off, and subtract what you put in. With example prices, $1,000 in at $100.00 and out at $125.00, with 0.1% fees, ends $247.50 up.

How much SOL do I get for $100?

Divide what is left after the fee by the price. At an example price of $100.00 and a 0.1% fee, $99.90 buys 0.999 SOL. Type 100 and the live price into the calculator for today’s figure.

How much has Solana moved in the last 30 days?

The panel on this page shows it live: SOL’s price now against its price at 00:00 UTC 30 days ago, from Hyperliquid’s daily candles, and the same for 7 and 90 days.

Are fees and taxes included?

The trading fee you type is, on both the buy and the sell. Network or withdrawal fees and taxes are not, and tax on crypto depends on where you live.
